Beginning at the close of business on February 7, 2014 the electronic Greenhouse Gas Reporting Tool (e-GGRT) will be unavailable for a period of time. During this period EPA will be conducting maintenance necessary to prepare e-GGRT to accept Reporting Year (RY) 2013 GHG reporting. The EPA estimates that this shutdown period will last one to two weeks after which e-GGRT will accept RY 2013 reporting as well as resubmittal of RY 2010, RY 20111 and RY 2012 GHG reports. Please refer to the GHG Reporting Program home page or e-GGRT Help site at www.ccdsupport.com for further information.

EPA has published an updated XML reporting schema Version v4.1 for RY2013 which allows facilities to upload their greenhouse gas (GHG) data directly in lieu of using the web forms provided through the Electronic Greenhouse Gas Reporting Tool (e-GGRT). Please note this XML schema Version v4.1 WILL NOT BECOME EFFECTIVE until e-GGRT is made available for 2013 reporting in mid-February (currently e-GGRT will only accept 2010, 2011 and 2012 data). XML based reporting submitted after e-GGRT is open for RY2013 reporting must be consistent with schema Version v4.1. Once in effect, this new schema Version v4.1 must also be used for any submissions of previous RY2010, RY2011 or RY2012 reports. The XML reporting schema Version v4.1 and supporting materials are published at XML Reporting Instructions. Additional materials (i.e. subpart specific reporting instructions) will be added when they are ready.

EPA has developed the draft RY2013 XML reporting schema in anticipation of reporting due on March 31, 2014. This draft provides a preview of the schema structure planned for the 2013 reporting period. Please note that EPA anticipates additional changes to this structure in response to changing requirements, enumerations, and to resolve issues discovered during testing. EPA encourages users to provide substantive comments on this preview as soon as possible to ensure adequate time to address or include suggestions in the final schema.

The e-GGRT XML reporting schema allows facilities to upload their greenhouse gas (GHG) data directly in lieu of using the web forms provided through the e-GGRT. XML is a set of specifications designed to create common electronic data formats in order to facilitate data sharing and comparison.

EPA is providing the XML schema preview for those subparts where reporters have historically used the XML reporting method.  Schema preview documents can be downloaded at: RY2013 XML Reporting Schema Preview

EPA has developed a prototype e-GGRT Inputs Verifier Tool (IVT) to demonstrate features described in the proposed rule, “Revisions to Reporting and Recordkeeping Requirements, and Proposed Confidentiality Determinations under the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program” published on September 11, 2013.

A useable, demonstration version of this prototype is now available to the public. For more information on the proposed rule, please visit http://www.epa.gov/ghgreporting/reporters/cbi/index.html

For more information and to use the prototype, please visit: Welcome to Inputs Verifier Tool Prototype.

The deadline for submitting and certifying RY2012 annual GHG reports to EPA is Monday, April 1, 2013, one week from today.

Please note that Inputs to equations whose reporting was deferred until 2013 must also be reported to EPA by April 1, 2013, for reporting years 2010, 2011, and 2012 as applicable. The affected subparts are: C, D, DD (only 2011-12), FF (only 2011-12), HH, II (only 2011-12), SS (only 2011-12), and TT (only 2011-12).

For additional information on deferred inputs to equations, please visit:

http://www.ccdsupport.com/confluence/display/help/Reports+for+RY2010+and+RY2011+Resubmitted+with+Equation+Input+Data+That+Is+No+Longer+Deferred

Please allow yourself sufficient time to enter and submit your data before the deadline.  You should provide yourself with enough time to contact the Help Desk in the event you have questions or encounter difficulties when completing your annual GHG report.  More complex questions may require longer response times.

The electronic Greenhouse Gas Reporting Tool (e-GGRT) is now open for 2012 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reporting under EPA's Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP).

When you access e-GGRT at https://ghgreporting.epa.gov, select 2012 under the ‘Data Reporting’ tab to enter 2012 GHG data. Updated reporting instructions are available on the GHGRP Help site at www.ccdsupport.com.

The deadline for submitting the 2012 annual GHG report is April 1, 2013. Facilities or suppliers reporting under subparts C, D , DD, HH, II, FF, SS, or TT must also submit inputs to equations whose reporting was deferred until 2013 for reporting years 2010 and/or 2011, as applicable, on or before April 1, 2013.

Your facility or supplier Certificate of Representation (COR) must be complete in order to submit the 2012 GHG report. Check the ‘Facility Management’ tab for each facility to make sure the green “Certificate of Representation Signed and Complete” message is visible. If you have not logged into e-GGRT for some time, please note that your e-GGRT password expires every ninety days. Here’s an FAQ on how to reset your password.

EPA is making new forms for GHG Reporting available to the public so that facilities and suppliers can begin preparing reporting year 2012 (RY2012) reports, due on April 1st, 2013. Reporting forms are MS Excel-based forms which capture specific data required under CFR 40 Part 98 and which users upload as part of their reporting. Reporting forms are not used for every source category reporting under the program.

Reporting instructions and reporting forms my be downloaded at: Reporting Form Instructions

If you have any questions regarding these tool please contact the GHGRP Help Desk

Please note that EPA's electronic Greenhouse Gas Reporting Tool (e-GGRT) is currently unavailable and undergoing maintenance in preparation for the RY2012 reporting season.

EPA has released reporting year 2011 greenhouse gas data collected under the Agency's Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program.

For more information on the RY2011 data release, please visit:

In preparation for RY2012 reporting, EPA's electronic Greenhouse Gas Reporting Tool (e-GGRT) will be taken down for an extended maintenance period beginning February 9th, 2013.

e-GGRT will be unavailable to users during the maintenance period which is expected to last until the week of February 18th.  Once e-GGRT service is restored, users may use e-GGRT to submit annual GHG data for the 2012 Reporting Year.

EPA has published an updated XML reporting schema Version v3.0 for RY2012 which allows facilities to upload their greenhouse gas (GHG) data directly in lieu of using the web forms provided through the Electronic Greenhouse Gas Reporting Tool (e-GGRT). Please note this XML schema Version v3.0 WILL NOT BECOME EFFECTIVE until e-GGRT is made available for 2012 reporting in mid-February (currently e-GGRT will only accept 2011 and 2010 data). XML based reporting submitted after e-GGRT is open for RY2012 reporting must be consistent with schema Version v3.0.

The XML reporting schema Version v3.0 and supporting materials are published at XML Reporting Instructions. Additional materials (i.e. subpart specific reporting instructions) will be added when they are ready.

Certain e-GGRT features which support user registration and certification of submissions will be unavailable on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 8am to 2pm EST due to system maintenance. Other e-GGRT features will continue to be available.

An earlier outage at EPA's National Computing Center that prevented access to e-GGRT has been resolved.  Thank you for your patience.

EPA is experiencing problems with its National Computing Center hosting environment that may cause intermittent problems with e-GGRT access (including user-login).  If you are unable to access or log-in to e-GGRT, please try re-loading the page and logging in again at a later time.  EPA is working to resolve the problem.

In addition to the draft RY12 XML Schema released late last month, EPA is providing a public preview of some RY12 reporting forms.  This preview covers the source categories where the collection of the inputs to some equations was deferred until 2013 (for the 2012 reporting year).  Specifically, the following Part 98 Subparts have inputs to equations whose reporting deadline was deferred until 2013: C, D, DD, FF, HH, II, SS and TT.
