Finding the Largest Emitter in Your State

This page provides step-by-step instruction for finding the largest emitter in a particular state.

Step 1. Go to https://egret.saic.com/ghgp/main.do

The page displays initially with search options presented.

Step 2. If you wish to find the largest facility in California, for example, select "California" from the dropdown box labeled "View Facilities in Your State".

The map displays with all of the large facilities in California.

You can use the Emission Range filter on the left side of the page to sort the results by largest to smallest emission range and your results will display on the left under "Total Emitters Displayed".

Step 3. You can also click on a specific State on the map or select from the dropdown at the top right corner.

"Total Emitters Displayed" will provide a list of facilities in a particular State with the "2010 Emissions (MT CO2e)" value provided.

Step 4. Similarly, you can hover over the blue facility icon on the map to view the emissions detail and locate a particular facility.

Step 6. Clicking on the blue facility icon will also provide you with details regarding the facility.
