Q544. Do acid gas removal units which are used only to sweeten a liquid stream meet the definition of acid gas removal units?
A544. The definition of acid gas removal unit in §98.238 states, “process unit that separates hydrogen sulfide and/or carbon dioxide from sour natural gas using liquid or solid absorbents or membrane separators.” Acid gas removal units processing a liquid stream do not meet this definition, and reporters do not need to report emissions from these units.
