Cut and
Paste

Reporting Form users who must use cut and paste should ALWAYS use Paste Special-Values. Failure to cut and paste as directed may damage your reporting form, forcing you to start again with an empty form.

  • Pasting of formatted content from other sources (word, html pages, other applications which use html etc) carries in cell properties which immediately invokes "cell locking" protection on the target cell if the sheet has been protected as all of the GHGRP sheets are. Other than unlocking the sheet this inserted cell protection can not be reversed.
  • This behavior can be prevented if the user invoked "paste special / text" or "paste special - values" before overwriting the formatting properties of the cell.
  • One the cell has been pasted over such that the blue formating turn white in most cases the cell will be come locked. One exception is pasting from another excel cell which is unformated. Pastes from unformated excel cells does overwrite the visible formatting but does not overwite the cell protection properties.
  • Similarly if a user copies content from other excel sheets or even from elsewhere within the same workbook they can inadvertantly paste additional conditional formating into cells and thereby damage the work sheet.

Subparts
C & D

Issue:  Invalid completeness validation messages occur after a user changes the configuration or reporting tier for a pre-existing unit. Validation messages relevant to the former or original configuration or tier may be presented.
Workaround:  Two options a) Ignore these completeness validation messages or b) Delete the unit and and re-enter that data.

Issue:  Many users, when reviewing the summary report which is generated prior to submission, are concerned because data items in unit's emissions details section are sometimes blank. Many users assume this suggests that these data have been omitted by the user and the submission is incomplete.
Workaround:  For certain configuration the summary report shows emission detail data elements which are not required for that configuration. These blanks do not mean the user has omitted data. For more information please review Configuration types, emission details and their presentation in the summary report
