Q422. Why does the reporting tool show dashes for some of the data?

A422. The files EPA has posted contain all publicly available data from the GHG Reporting Program. A limited amount of the data EPA received through the GHG Reporting  Program is not available to the public due to confidentiality  requirements. In a recentseveral [rulemakingrulemakings|http://www.epa.gov/climatechangeghgreporting/reporters/emissionscbi/CBIindex.html],  EPA determined which data elements required to be reported for 2010 are  deemed confidential business information. EPA is not able to share this  confidential business information withcannot be made publicly available. Dashes represent data elements that were reported by facilities, but which EPA is unable to make available to the public.
