EPA has developed an XML reporting schema that allows facilities to upload their greenhouse gas (GHG) data directly in lieu of using the web forms provided through the Electronic Greenhouse Gas Reporting Tool (e-GGRT). XML is a set of specifications designed to create common electronic data formats in order to facilitate data sharing and comparison.

There will be two schema versions for reporting year (RY) 2011 reflecting the two reporting deadlines (April 2, 2012 and September 28, 2012). More information on reporting deadlines can be found by clicking this link.

The schema version for RY2011 reports due by April 2, 2012 is published below.XML based reporting submitted after February 9, 2013 when the e-GGRT maintenance period begins, including any of the reports due by April 1, 2013, must be consistent with schema version v3.1. After February 9, the schema Version v3.1 must also be used for any submissions of previous RY2011 or RY2010 reporting including reports for RY2010 and RY2011 resubmitted with equation input data. The XML reporting schema version v3.1 and supporting materials are published below:

The schema version for RY2011 reports due by September 28, 2012 is still under development and will be released in July 2012.

1 Please note that an earlier version (v3.0) of the RY2012 schema was released on January 30, 2013 and has been superseded by the current version (v3.1). Changes during that period affect Subpart HH and TT. If you are preparing an XML-based submission for Subpart HH or TT please ensure that you have used the updated schema.
