Contact the Help Desk - Issues Related to the Identification of Specific f-GHGs

In the webforms and reporting forms for subparts F, I, L, T, OO, and QQ, users are required to identify fluorinated GHGs (f-GHGs) and fluorinated heat transfer fluids (f-HTFs) by selecting the gases from dropdown lists. Frequently these dropdown lists are limited and do not include all of the fluorinated gases listed in Table A-1.

Adding an "Other" F-GHG to a Webform Dropdown List (Subparts F, I, L and T)

The dropdowns in the webforms include an option to add other f-GHGs; however, if the user attempts to add a gas that is listed in A-1 or has been added to e-GGRT recently — even if it is not included in the dropdown list — the following error message will be displayed:

You cannot add this greenhouse gas because the CAS Registry Number you have provided for this 'other' gas matches with an existing 40 CFR Part 98 Table A-1 gas, or it matches with an 'other' gas that has already been added. It is possible it is included in the selection list provided, but with a different chemical name than the one you are using. The gas with the matching CAS Registry Number is identified within e-GGRT as follows: CAS Registry Number: [CAS no.]; Gas Name: [gas name]; Chemical Formula: [chemical formula]. If you would like to select this gas, click CANCEL and locate the gas on the selection list provided. If you are unable to locate this gas on the selection list provided, please contact the GHGRP Help Desk.

This restriction is necessary to ensure the integrity of the identity information for f-GHGs in the GHGRP database. If you receive this error message, contact the Help Desk using any of the means listed below and EPA will update the dropdown list in the webform to include the missing gas.

Adding an "Other" F-GHG to a Reporting Form Dropdown List (Subparts L, OO and QQ)

Likewise, in the reporting forms for subparts L, OO and QQ, if a user attempts to add an f-GHG listed in Table A-1 but not included in the dropdown list, he or she will be unable to successfully upload the completed form in e-GGRT. If you experience an upload failure for this reason, contact the Help Desk using any of the means listed below and EPA will customize a reporting form for you to include the missing gas.
