About Cal e-GGRT Data Reporting Tab
Note: The Cal e-GGRT help system includes general instruction on using the California GHG reporting tool. However, the help system may not explain differences between California and U.S. EPA reporting requirements. Please refer to the ARB reporting website for California-specific reporting requirements and additional help.

This page provides a description of the features and page element on the Cal e-GGRT Data Reporting tab.

Element Description

Reporting Facilities

This table lists all registered facilities and/or suppliers that are required to submit an Annual Report to ARB and displays the current status of each facility's Annual Report

Facilities Not Reporting in 2011

This table lists all registered facilities and/or suppliers that are NOT required to submit an Annual Report to ARB. There are no reporting requirements for those that do not trigger the respective thresholds for the source categories at their facility or supply operations. In this first reporting year, some facilities or suppliers may have registered with Cal e-GGRT because they thought they might trigger the rule. If those facilities or suppliers now find that they are not subject to the program they may choose to check this box for the 2010 reporting year. In future years, consistent with 98.2(i), facilities and suppliers may no longer be required to report under the program.

By default, all registered facilities are initially classified as reporting facilities.

To begin using the Data Reporting features of Cal e-GGRT or to reclassify a facility as a "Facility Not Reporting in 2010, select a facility in the REPORTING FACILITIES table or FACILITIES NOT REPORTING IN 2010 table and click OPEN.

To indicate that "This facility is NOT required to submit a report," check the box near the bottom of the screen on the Facility Overview page and click SAVE.

Note: If you are below the reporting threshold, and therefore not subject to the rule, you are not required to report to ARB. Therefore, you are not required to check the box under “facilities not submitting an annual report”. Facilities that registered as a precaution in early 2011, and subsequently have determined that they are below the threshold, may optionally check this box. Checking this box would let ARB know that although the facility registered in the system, the facility has determined that they are not actually subject to the rule. If you elect to select this check box, please be sure to click “save”. If you check this box, you are NOT REQUIRED to generate, sign, certify or submit an annual report. Please note that any data saved within Cal e-GGRT may be subject to public disclosure consistent with the final rule on confidentiality determinations for data elements to be reported under the GHG Reporting Rule. Click this link to view a pre-publication version of the final rule.

The Facility Overview screen also includes a data rollup calculator.

This is where the “rollup” is presented, which provides your total CO2 equivalent emissions (excluding biogenic) and biogenic CO2 emissions. The third total presented in the “roll up” is the quantity of CO2 equivalent for suppliers.

Click the VIEW GHG DETAILS to see the underlying details on the metric tons of GHG, by gas and by subpart, along with the Global Warming Potentials (GWPs) that go into the calculations.

Viewing the GHG details allows you to see the individual subpart components that were tallied into the roll up totals.

Note that the roll ups are in CO2 equivalent metric tons, in some cases this value will differ from the subpart data you entered because in the subpart you entered data for a gas with a higher GWP than CO2.

For example in the 3rd Row Methane (CH4) there are 14 metric tons however those will example, 3 Row, be multiplied by the global warming potential of 21 in the rollup calculator.
